Battle of Britain Parade - This will be held at the Aviation Museum on 20 Sept. Location is the Alberta Aviation Museum (11410 Kingsway). Dress is C1. Timings are: Band/ Flag party – arrive at 0845 hrs; remaining cadets to arrive by 0945 hrs. Parade should end around 1130 hrs.

 

Gliding - Sunday, Sept 20th is gliding at Villeneuve airport. This activity is limited to 30 cadets. Transport is parent drop off and pick up. Dress is C5 if you have it, otherwise, civvies. Lunch will be provided. Timings are: Cadets are to arrive at the airport by 0830 hrs, should be done by 1500 hrs. Directions and other information are attached to these announcements.

 

Battle of Britain Parade Practice (For Some Cadets) - This Friday at the Alberta Aviation Museum starting at 1900 hrs. Dress is civvies, dress for being outside. This is only for those cadets who were in the band last year(as well as Flag party representative and any cadets in parade positions), not new cadets.

 

Field Training Exercise (FTX) - Location is Camp Wright near Athabasca. Dates are 25-27 Sept. Cadets will depart from the Church on Friday night and return on Sunday afternoon. Kit lists and other information have been sent out. Transport, accommodation and meals are provided for the weekend.

 

Validation Forms / Detailed Health Questionnaire - It is vital that cadets get these documents completed as soon as possible. With the FTX only a week away, these forms need to be completed and returned in a timely manner so that they can be processed in time for this activity. This also includes the Code of Conduct and Parent Permission Form.

Church Parking Lot - All drivers are asked to use caution when in the Church parking lot. There are a lot of cars moving around at the start and end of the training night, as well as cadets going to and from these cars. The construction on one of the roads by the church has also added to the situation. Cadets are also to use caution when going to and from their cars. Do not run out into the parking lot without looking.​
 
National Ground School - For those cadets who are interested and qualify for Glider or Power Camps. Please contact Lt Funnell for more information.​

Cadet 365 - Cadets are to ensure that they are regularly checking their cadet 365 e-mail accounts. This is the method that the Squadron uses to communicate important messages. If you are having difficulty accessing your account, see Admin next Wednesday.

Cadet 365 Outside of Canada Use - Please do not access your Cadet 365 account when travelling outside of Canada or using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Depending on what servers you use it may lead to a security issue, which will shut down your account and initiate an investigation by the Cadet 365 security section.

Attendance - If a cadet is unable to attend a training night, a training activity or an optional activity that they signed up for, they must notify the squadron of that absence. For training nights, this notice must be received prior to 1700hrs for an excused absence to be given. Please e-mail 699air@cadets.gc.ca to be excused. This applies to any cadets who participate in optional weekly activities.

Supply - For any unresolved supply issues please fill out the measurement form, write what you need, and email it to 699air. All uniform parts being returned must be washed first (other than the wedge).

Uniform Instructions and Abbreviations

Duty Flight - The duty flight for March is Cronus Flight. Each month, one flight is assigned to be the duty flight for that month. The flight helps with set up at the start of the night and clean up at the end of the night. Cadets in the duty flight should be arriving no later than 1815hrs on a training night and are not to leave at the end of the night until their flight commander gives them permission to leave.
