Attendance
If a cadet is unable to attend a training night, or an activity they signed up for, they are expected to notify the Squadron prior to the event’s start. The best method of notification is to e-mail 699air@cadets.gc.ca.

​Excused Absences - Emails sent in regard to missing a parade night should be sent in no later than 1730hrs. Emails sent after the start of any cadet activity will not be considered as an excused absence. Emails cannot be sent by parents. They must be sent by the cadet using their 365 account.​​​​​

Range Night - Monday, May 12th. The location is the church. Timings are 1800hrs - 2100hrs. Dress is civvies. The range night is open to level one cadets and the range team.

CO's Parade - Wednesday, May 7th. The location is the church. Timings are 1900hrs - 2030hrs. Dress is C1s (Blue Uniform with Medals).

Portraits - Every cadet will be photographed in their C1 uniform (Blue uniform with medals, tunic and tie) during the CO's parade. Cadets will wear C3B, and bring their tunic and tie for portraits, as outlined above. Plan ahead, prepare your uniform and haircuts ahead of time. Portraits will be made available for purchase by parents. Please see below.

Field Training Exercise (FTX) - Spring Survival Exercise (FTX) at Camp Wright, 9th - 11th of May 2025. Drop off and pick up at 1800hrs both Friday and Sunday. This event is important for completing your level. Attached is the permission form and Kit List. The permission form MUST be returned by 7th May (Wednesday night). Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) - Saturday, May 31st. The location is the church. Timings are 0900hrs - 1230hrs. This is a yearly event where parents and guests can see their cadets and what they learned over the training year. After the parade, there is a parent potluck. Details to follow.​​​​​

Uniform Update (New) - ​If a cadet receives an item that doesn't fit, please e-mail 699air@cadets.gc.ca regarding if it is too small or too big. By telling Supply sooner, we can start to address the issue before the next training night.
Any cadet who is growing out of a uniform part MUST come to supply BEFORE they can no longer wear the item. Leaving it until you can no longer wear it is not acceptable. If you are still missing a uniform item, please e-mail the above address to let us know what it is.

Plastic Blue Nametags - If you require a new nametag, please see Supply to order one. New cadets receive the first nametag free, after that, replacements cost $2.50 each. Payment will be collected when the nametag arrives. Please do not pay in advance at canteen.
Fitness Tracking - Cadets must complete fitness tracking as part of their level program. To access the form use this link: Fitness Tracking Link​

Medal Mounting - If you want to get your medals mounted, bring them to next parade night. CI Dycke will be collecting them to be mounted. The cost is $15 per medal.​​​

Cadet 365 - Accounts are being distributed to new cadets. If you have one, please bring your mobile device to cadets for assistance in setting up information.

SSC Fundraiser Alert! - We’re offering digital portraits of your cadet — perfect for capturing those crisp uniforms and confident smiles! The portraits will be sent to your email as a digital link. The cost is $15.00 per cadet. Alberta Provincial Air Cadet League Golf Tournament - Saturday, May 10th. Fundraising event for all parents for the Provincial Air Cadet League. Visit this website if you are interested in attending: Website Link. Enjoy a Saturday away from your kids while they are at the FTX, and go golfing with a Steak Dinner.

Duty Flight - Duty flight for May is Flight 4, Hydra Flight. Each month, one flight is assigned to be the duty flight for that month. The flight helps with set up at the start of the night and clean up at the end of the night. Cadets in the duty flight should be arriving no later that 1820hrs on a training night and are not to leave after dismissal (at the end of the night) until their flight commander gives them permission to leave.​

Closed Facebook Page - This page is where we will post last-minute notices and reminders for upcoming events. It is recommended that all current cadets and parents ask to join this page. It is called “699 Jasper Place”. The closed Facebook page is only for current cadets and parents/guardians. Please do not invite extended family members to the page. It has a question that must be answered correctly. If the question is not answered, or if the answer is “yes” , “Jasper”, etc, the join request will be declined. We take the safety of the page very seriously.
